Reading Marathon Project

Two years ago the language teacher at our school carried out a reading marathon during a day. A well-known person in our city came to school to tell students stories about Bell Ville´s urban legends. Before this presentation, we had the opportunity to listen to Guillermo Barrantes- author of Buenos Aires es Leyenda 1- reading one of his amusing stories. The objectives of this marathon were:

  • to engage students with reading fantastic stories

  • to get them involved with myths and legends

  • to captivate their attention while listening to someone reading.

Hi Yani:)
I think that´s a really motivating activity for students, specially if they are kids or teenagers!! I guess they wanted to know more about the language or at least they learned more at the same time they were enjoying it:)What have you noticed about their process of learning? Any change since that marathon?
